Zoe and Physiotherapy
Zoe is an enthusiastic Sports Physiotherapist and horsey fanatic. Zoe has provided Physiotherapy services for riders of all disciplines and levels for >10 years. Highlights of Zoe’s Physiotherapy career to date have included assisting High Performance Squad riders to achieve great success through Equestrian Western Australia, Equestrian Victoria, Victorian AOR, and on an individual level, successfully rehabilitating countless riders back to their peak performance and beyond, assisting many individuals with chronic pain to ride pain free.
Zoe has worked in musculoskeletal private practices since graduating as a Physiotherapist in 2009. Since living on the Mornington Peninsula, Zoe has consulted at Peninsula Sports Medicine Group, The Sports Injury Clinic in Frankston and has recently opened a new clinic space - The Beach Physio in Safety Beach where she resides when she is not at The Riders Physio room at the state of the art equestrian centre - Boneo Park.
Zoe has a well trained eye for rider biomechanics and a thorough understanding of the physical requirements to be an effective rider. She provides riders with the tools to improve their physical capacity as a rider athlete, through education in regards to what needs to be done and why, prescription of self-management programs (including therapeutic and sport specific exercises), manual therapy, taping/bracing and so on. Zoe has taught Clinical Pilates for many years which can be incorporated in the riders performance program.
Zoe has further postgraduate education in the area of Equine Physiotherapy which she has partly attained through the Australian Physiotherapy Association. Dedication to enhancing her knowledge and professional development is at the forefront of her priorities.
Zoe in the Horse World
Zoe is a keen dressage rider and spends the majority of her out of work time (and all of her money) on her horses or doing something equestrian related.
Zoe has been riding for over 20 years and currently competes at Advanced/PSG level with her two mounts Sophie and Charlie. Zoe has been a member of State Development and Young Rider Dressage Squads in Victoria and Western Australia. From early teens, and to this day, Zoe seeks regular guidance from world class coaches and trainers, including Australian and International Olympians and A level dressage judges. Zoe has an appreciation of all three Olympic disciplines and believes in a varied training program, even for a ‘dressage horse’.
Living on the Mornington Peninsula with her horses based at Boneo Park, Zoe is well positioned to soak up the knowledge that surrounds her from some of the leaders in the dressage and equestrian world.
